Portage Manor is a beautiful historic building that houses and coordinates nursing and other services for 144 adults who meet residential level of care needs. Our home has a diverse resident population with an emphasis on family and human connection.  We work really hard to ensure everyone has a place to belong, an opportunity to grow, and tools to succeed. Our team is small but mighty.  We have success stories and some failures, this group gives their very best everyday to be a home for those we serve.

We are proud to be listed on the National Historic Registry and have always been the "St. Joseph County Home" since the doors opened in 1907.  Our mission is important and still very relevant to today.
