Mission Statement
The Division of Victim/Witness Services of the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office
seeks to be a leader in the community in assuring that all victims of crime receive
compassionate advocacy. We will provide information to victims who have been thrust
into the criminal justice system, help them to understand what is happening around them
during the process of investigating and prosecuting the perpetrator of the crime, and
treat all victims with understanding, respect, and dignity.
We will remember that all victims deserve to be given the information that they need
in order to understand their rights, to live a life free from fear and intimidation, and
to encounter compassion and patience in all phases of the criminal justice process.
We will use our gifts of understanding, generosity, caring, and communication to provide
the assistance of which every victim is worthy.
